GRESIK– In an effort to align theoretical understanding in college with realities in the world of work, the Industrial Engineering Student Association successfully held the 2026 Industrial Visit agenda. One of the main destinations in the series of visits to the Surabaya and Malang areas this time was PT Petrokimia Gresik.
The group of students wearing their proud green alma mater jackets was warmly welcomed at the Petrokimia Gresik Learning Service Center. This visit aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the production process, supply chain management, and work safety system (K3) at one of the most complete fertilizer producers in Indonesia.
Bridging Theory and Practice
The chief organizer of the activity said that the choice of Petrokimia Gresik as the location for the visit was based on the complexity of the industrial system owned by the company.
"We want to see firsthand how the principles of Industrial Engineering, such as production line optimization and quality management, are applied on a large scale. Petrokimia Gresik is an extraordinary living laboratory for us," he said during the documentation session.
Surabaya-Malang Travel Series
This visit to Petrokimia Gresik is part of a series of Industrial Visit 2026 programs covering the Surabaya and Malang areas. During this trip, students not only learn about technical aspects, but also network with industry practitioners.
Through this activity, it is hoped that prospective Industrial Engineering graduates will have more mature knowledge and a broader view of future industrial challenges, especially in supporting national food security through the agro-industrial sector.
