As part of strengthening collaboration between academia and industry, international students from Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) are undertaking their Internship Program (Kerja Praktek/KP) at PDAM Makassar, the city's regional water utility company.
This program is facilitated by the Office of International Affairs (Kantor Urusan Internasional/KUI) UMI to provide international students with hands-on learning experiences in understanding water treatment systems, utility operations, and the practical application of academic knowledge in a professional environment.
During the internship, the students have the opportunity to observe various operational processes, including water treatment, distribution systems, and public service management. The program is expected to broaden their academic perspectives while enhancing their professional skills, adaptability, and cross-cultural competencies.
Through initiatives like this, UMI remains committed to advancing the internationalization of higher education by providing meaningful experiential learning opportunities and strengthening partnerships with strategic institutions such as PDAM Makassar. These collaborations contribute to developing globally competitive graduates who are well-prepared to meet future challenges.
