International Student Internship at PDAM Makassar City

As part of strengt­he­ning col­la­bo­ra­tion bet­ween aca­de­mia and in­dustry, in­ter­na­tio­nal stu­dents from Uni­ver­si­tas Muslim In­do­ne­sia (UMI) are un­der­ta­king their In­terns­hip Pro­gram (Kerja Prak­tek/KP) at PDAM Ma­kas­sar, the city's re­gio­nal water uti­lity com­pany.

This pro­gram is fa­ci­li­ta­ted by the Office of In­ter­na­tio­nal Af­fairs (Kantor Urusan In­ter­na­sio­nal/KUI) UMI to pro­vide in­ter­na­tio­nal stu­dents with hands-on lear­ning ex­pe­rien­ces in un­ders­tan­ding water treat­ment systems, uti­lity ope­ra­tions, and the prac­ti­cal ap­pli­ca­tion of aca­de­mic know­ledge in a pro­fes­sio­nal en­vi­ron­ment.

During the in­terns­hip, the stu­dents have the op­por­tu­nity to ob­serve va­rious ope­ra­tio­nal pro­ces­ses, inc­lu­ding water treat­ment, dis­tri­bu­tion systems, and public ser­vice ma­na­ge­ment. The pro­gram is ex­pec­ted to broa­den their aca­de­mic pers­pec­ti­ves while en­han­cing their pro­fes­sio­nal skills, adap­ta­bi­lity, and cross-cul­tu­ral com­pe­ten­cies.

Through ini­tia­ti­ves like this, UMI re­mains com­mit­ted to ad­van­cing the in­ter­na­tio­na­li­za­tion of higher edu­ca­tion by pro­vi­ding mea­ning­ful ex­pe­rien­tial lear­ning op­por­tu­ni­ties and strengt­he­ning part­ners­hips with stra­te­gic ins­ti­tu­tions such as PDAM Ma­kas­sar. These col­la­bo­ra­tions con­tri­bute to de­ve­lo­ping glo­bally com­pe­ti­tive gra­dua­tes who are well-pre­pa­red to meet future chal­le­nges.
