As is commonly understood, the Messenger of Allah was sent by Allah SWT to convey this message of Islam to perfect noble morals and therefore Islam will become a blessing for the whole world. One of the moral teachings is reflected in the hadith as narrated by Abu Hurairah RA, that: The Prophet SAW, said, "Faith has seventy more branches or more than sixty branches. The most important is the saying ~Laa ilaaha illallah~ (There is no god but Allah), and the lowest is _removing obstacles (thorns) on the path_, and shame is one of the branches of faith." [HR. Bukhari and Muslim]. As stated in this hadith, if believers find thorns or something that could harm people on the road, they should immediately remove the obstacle. If he does it because of Allah then it is recorded as a good deed.
However, _mafhum al-mukhâlafah_ is the opposite, it can be implicitly understood that if someone deliberately puts thorns or obstacles in the way, then it can be said that the person concerned does not (lack of) faith. Furthermore, the implied meaning of this hadith can be elaborated more widely when we are able to grasp the substance of the moral messages in the hadith above. The substance of this akhlaqul karimah teaching is how to ensure that believers always care about the smoothness of people's journeys, how to facilitate and even make other people safe and comfortable on their journey. From this substance, the implied message can be expanded, namely how to make other people's affairs smoother and easier, not even just matters on the street but matters anywhere, at the office, in agencies, at home in the family and so on. The spirit of making things easier, not making things more difficult, is in line with another hadith of the Prophet Muhammad: Make every matter easy & don't make things difficult, make them calm & don't make them run away. [HR. Bukhari No. 5660].
When we are entrusted with serving the public interest, let the spirit of removing thorns in the road be applied in that public service. Let's not complicate people's affairs, let's not make long-winded regulations that seem too bureaucratic. Bureaucracy is important as long as bureaucracy is intended to guarantee quality and safety, but if bureaucracy only has the impression of making matters difficult then in order to remove thorns in the road let's carry out de-bureaucracy. If, for example, an ID card matter can be resolved in one hour, why should it take 1 day to deal with it, if a traffic violation trial can be resolved at one table, why must it go through two tables, when marriage matters can be resolved through just one KUA office, why must it go through the hassle of going through various offices.
