Internal Quality Audit (IQA) of Universitas Muslim Indonesia at the Chemical Engineering Study Program, FTI-UMI

Ma­kas­sar — Uni­ver­si­tas Muslim In­do­ne­sia (UMI) once again con­duc­ted an In­ter­nal Qua­lity Audit (IQA) as part of its com­mit­ment to main­tai­ning and im­pro­ving the qua­lity of higher edu­ca­tion. The audit was car­ried out at the Che­mi­cal Engi­nee­ring Study Pro­gram, Fa­culty of In­dus­trial Tech­no­logy (FTI) UMI, as one of the stages in en­su­ring that aca­de­mic and non-aca­de­mic qua­lity stan­dards are im­ple­men­ted in ac­cor­dance with es­ta­blis­hed re­gu­la­tions.

The IQA served as an eva­lua­tion of va­rious as­pects of the study pro­gram, inc­lu­ding the lear­ning pro­cess, cur­ri­cu­lum, human re­sour­ces, fa­ci­li­ties and in­fras­truc­ture ma­na­ge­ment, re­search, com­mu­nity ser­vice, as well as aca­de­mic ad­mi­nis­tra­tion and do­cu­men­ta­tion. The audit pro­cess in­vol­ved do­cu­ment exa­mi­na­tion, data ve­ri­fi­ca­tion, and dis­cus­sions bet­ween the au­di­tors and the ma­na­ge­ment of the Che­mi­cal Engi­nee­ring Study Pro­gram.

Through this ac­ti­vity, the Che­mi­cal Engi­nee­ring Study Pro­gram had the op­por­tu­nity to iden­tify ac­hie­ve­ments, de­ve­lop­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties, and areas that still re­quire im­pro­ve­ment. The audit re­sults are ex­pec­ted to serve as a basis for de­ve­lo­ping tar­ge­ted and sus­tai­na­ble follow-up ac­tions.

The im­ple­men­ta­tion of the IQA is also an im­por­tant part of buil­ding a qua­lity cul­ture within UMI's aca­de­mic en­vi­ron­ment. Pe­rio­dic eva­lua­tions not only aim to ensure com­pliance with es­ta­blis­hed stan­dards but also en­cou­rage every work unit to con­ti­nuously im­prove its qua­lity.

The Che­mi­cal Engi­nee­ring Study Pro­gram of FTI UMI wel­co­mes the In­ter­nal Qua­lity Audit as an op­por­tu­nity to strengt­hen pro­gram go­ver­nance, im­prove the qua­lity of aca­de­mic ser­vi­ces, and ensure that edu­ca­tion, re­search, and com­mu­nity ser­vice ac­ti­vi­ties are car­ried out more ef­fec­ti­vely.

Through con­sis­tent im­ple­men­ta­tion of the IQA, Uni­ver­si­tas Muslim In­do­ne­sia is ex­pec­ted to main­tain and con­ti­nuously im­prove its higher edu­ca­tion qua­lity stan­dards while pro­du­cing com­pe­tent and pro­fes­sio­nal gra­dua­tes who can con­tri­bute mea­ning­fully to so­ciety and in­dus­trial de­ve­lop­ment.
