Three Foreign Students Undertake Internships at FTI-UMI, Strengthening International Cooperation

Three Fo­reign Stu­dents Un­der­take In­terns­hips at FTI-UMI, Strengt­he­ning In­ter­na­tio­nal Coo­pe­ra­tion

Ma­kas­sar, 20 May 2025– The Fa­culty of In­dus­trial Tech­no­logy, In­do­ne­sian Muslim Uni­ver­sity (FTI-UMI) has once again strengt­he­ned its in­ter­na­tio­nal net­work with the ar­ri­val of three fo­reign stu­dents who will un­dergo an in­terns­hip pro­gram on campus. The three stu­dents are Mr. Theo Arnaud Didier Bazin and Mr. Ga­briel Du­fa­yet from France, and Ms. Mame Anta Diama SARR from Se­ne­gal. Theo and Anta will carry out in­terns­hips at the Fa­culty of In­dus­trial Tech­no­logy, while Ga­briel will join the Fa­culty of Engi­nee­ring at UMI. This in­terns­hip pro­gram lasts for 4 months, star­ting on May 20 2025. The ar­ri­val of these three fo­reign stu­dents was wel­co­med di­rectly by the FTI-UMI lea­ders­hip, inc­lu­ding the FTI-UMI Dean, Deputy Dean, Chair and Sec­re­tary of the Study Pro­gram, as well as the Head of the UMI In­ter­na­tio­nal Af­fairs Office (KUI). Also pre­sent at the wel­co­ming event were the in­terns­hip su­per­vi­sors and the fo­reign stu­dent sup­port team, who will ensure the smooth run­ning of their in­terns­hip pro­gram.

In his speech, the Dean of FTI-UMI ex­pres­sed his ap­pre­cia­tion for the pre­sence of Theo, Ga­briel, and Anta. “We are very ent­hu­sias­tic about wel­co­ming in­ter­na­tio­nal stu­dents to FTI-UMI. This is a golden op­por­tu­nity to learn from each other, both aca­de­mi­cally and cul­tu­rally" he said. Meanw­hile, the Head of KUI UMI emp­ha­si­zed the im­por­tance of this pro­gram in ex­pan­ding UMI's global coo­pe­ra­tion. "The pre­sence of fo­reign stu­dents like this strengt­hens UMI's com­mit­ment to buil­ding an in­ter­na­tio­nal edu­ca­tion net­work," he added.

Over the next 4 months, Theo, Anta, and Ga­briel will be in­vol­ved in va­rious aca­de­mic and re­search ac­ti­vi­ties in their res­pec­tive fa­cul­ties. It is hoped that this pro­gram will not only pro­vide va­lua­ble ex­pe­rience for the three stu­dents, but also open up op­por­tu­ni­ties for wider col­la­bo­ra­tion bet­ween UMI and edu­ca­tio­nal ins­ti­tu­tions in France and Se­ne­gal.
