Three Foreign Students Undertake Internships at FTI-UMI, Strengthening International Cooperation
Makassar, 20 May 2025– The Faculty of Industrial Technology, Indonesian Muslim University (FTI-UMI) has once again strengthened its international network with the arrival of three foreign students who will undergo an internship program on campus. The three students are Mr. Theo Arnaud Didier Bazin and Mr. Gabriel Dufayet from France, and Ms. Mame Anta Diama SARR from Senegal. Theo and Anta will carry out internships at the Faculty of Industrial Technology, while Gabriel will join the Faculty of Engineering at UMI. This internship program lasts for 4 months, starting on May 20 2025. The arrival of these three foreign students was welcomed directly by the FTI-UMI leadership, including the FTI-UMI Dean, Deputy Dean, Chair and Secretary of the Study Program, as well as the Head of the UMI International Affairs Office (KUI). Also present at the welcoming event were the internship supervisors and the foreign student support team, who will ensure the smooth running of their internship program.
In his speech, the Dean of FTI-UMI expressed his appreciation for the presence of Theo, Gabriel, and Anta. “We are very enthusiastic about welcoming international students to FTI-UMI. This is a golden opportunity to learn from each other, both academically and culturally" he said. Meanwhile, the Head of KUI UMI emphasized the importance of this program in expanding UMI's global cooperation. "The presence of foreign students like this strengthens UMI's commitment to building an international education network," he added.
Over the next 4 months, Theo, Anta, and Gabriel will be involved in various academic and research activities in their respective faculties. It is hoped that this program will not only provide valuable experience for the three students, but also open up opportunities for wider collaboration between UMI and educational institutions in France and Senegal.
