REACTOR 2025: High School Stu­dent Crea­ti­vity Event in the Fields of Science and Arts

Ma­kas­sar, 24 May 2025– The Che­mi­cal Engi­nee­ring Study Pro­gram, Fa­culty of In­dus­trial Tech­no­logy (FTI) In­do­ne­sian Muslim Uni­ver­sity (UMI), in col­la­bo­ra­tion with the Che­mi­cal Engi­nee­ring Stu­dent As­so­cia­tion (HMTK) FTI UMI, suc­cess­fully held the Re­search and Crea­ti­vity Com­pe­ti­tion of Engi­neers (REACTOR) 2025. This annual ac­ti­vity aims to hone the crea­ti­vity of high school stu­dents in the fields of design, re­search and com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills. This year the REACTOR 2025 ac­ti­vity was at­ten­ded by 24 high schools, with va­rious com­pe­ti­tions being con­tes­ted, inc­lu­ding the Scien­ti­fic Wri­ting Com­pe­ti­tion (LKTI), Speech Con­test, Poetry Crea­tion, 3D Mading, Poster Design.

The event which lasted for two days, from 24 to 26 May 2025, was of­fi­cially opened by the Dean of FTI UMI, ac­com­pa­nied by the Deputy Dean, Head of the Che­mi­cal Engi­nee­ring Study Pro­gram, as well as a number of lec­tu­rers and staff. In his speech, the Dean of FTI ex­pres­sed his ap­pre­cia­tion for the ent­hu­siasm of the par­ti­ci­pants and hoped that REACTOR could become a forum for de­ve­lo­ping high school stu­dents' ta­lents in the fields of science and arts.

"Through REACTOR, we want to en­cou­rage the spirit of in­no­va­tion and crea­ti­vity of the you­nger ge­ne­ra­tion, as well as in­tro­duce the world of che­mi­cal engi­nee­ring that is ap­pli­ca­ble and fun," said the Head of the UMI Che­mi­cal Engi­nee­ring Study Pro­gram.

This ac­ti­vity is not only a com­pe­ti­tion, but also a means for par­ti­ci­pants to net­work and ex­plore their in­te­rests in the field of che­mi­cal engi­nee­ring. Va­rious series of events, inc­lu­ding works­hops and work ex­hi­bi­tions, also en­li­ve­ned REACTOR 2025.

The high­light of the event will be held on May 26 2025 with the an­noun­ce­ment of the win­ners and pre­sen­ta­tion of prizes. It is hoped that REACTOR can con­ti­nue to be an event that high school stu­dents look for­ward to every year.
